Reducing Food Waste

In early October, the Atlante UK team stepped away from desks and into the incredible world of City Harvest London, where they spent the day volunteering to help tackle food waste and support those in need.

From sorting surplus food to packing and preparing deliveries, we got a firsthand look at how this amazing charity redistributes food to shelters, community projects, and local charities across London.

It was a rewarding experience that reminded us of the power of teamwork and how small actions can make a big difference. We’re proud to support City Harvest’s mission and do our part in reducing food waste while feeding the community.

Addressing Food Insecurity in the UK

The UK is currently grappling with significant levels of food insecurity:

● 7.2 million individuals reside in food-insecure households.

● 2.1 million state school pupils qualify for free school meals, with an additional 800,000 living in poverty but not meeting the criteria.

● Food inflation has reached its highest point in 45 years.
