Or does it have too much of a following?? With Veganuary well and truly behind us, is it just a fad that people do for the month of January or is it becoming more of a widely adopted regime that people are sticking to for most of the year?

Almost a decade old, having been established in 2014, Veganuary was started as an initiative to encouraged people to go vegan during the month of January. Now with more plant-based options than ever is it plausible that this will continue to be the case?

It is likely that the trend of plant-based and vegan products will continue to grow in the UK retail industry in 2023. The popularity of Veganuary, has increased in recent years and is expected to continue. As a result, retailers are expected to offer a wider range of plant-based and vegan products, such as plant-based meat alternatives, dairy-free alternatives, and vegan snacks, to meet the growing demand.

In January Atlante launched Plant Heroes Zero Salmon a plant-based alternative to salmon and Chic Filet, which is an alternative option to a chicken breast. The rational behind the Zero Salmon was less impact on the planet through our oceans being overfished and no negative effects on the planet.

In addition, with increasing concerns about the environmental impact of animal agriculture and the health benefits of a plant-based diet, it's likely that consumers will continue to seek out and purchase more vegan products. Retailers who are able to effectively meet this demand by offering high-quality and convenient vegan options are likely to benefit from the trend.
